TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police are investigating three similar armed robberies that happened at check cashing businesses over the last eight days.
The latest incident happened Thursday afternoon near Admiral and Sheridan. Another happened Wednesday night in south Tulsa and the third happened last week in west Tulsa.
Investigators said two of the robberies involved a man using a Christmas theme. In one, he wore a Christmas shirt and, in another, he used a Christmas stocking to demand money, investigators said.
They said that in another robbery, a man wearing women’s clothes pulled out a gun and demanded money. The clerk put money in the man’s purse, and he left, investigators said.
Police said the cases are very similar in that they each involved a check cashing business and a robber with a specific build.
Investigators said they believe the same man committed two of the robberies, and they are trying to determine if he also committed the third one.
