‘Please Go Adopt a Pup’ event held at Expo Center

TULSA, Okla. — In the wake of the PGA, Oklahoma Alliance for Animals (OAA) partnered with Tulsa Animal Welfare (TAW) and Expo Square to host their own PGA...P.

The Please Go Adopt a Pup event took place Saturday, May 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Expo Center near 21st street.

TAW is over capacity and event is designed to help avoid euthanasia for space.

The event featured over 40 dogs and according to a Facebook post by OAA, over 42 were adopted.

All the dogs were fully vaccinated, altered, microchipped, and distemper negative. In addition to this, all adoption fees were waived for approved adopters.

Every dog that was adopted went go home with a goodie bag filled with free items, including a dog bed, food and treats, toys, and coupons for a free professional groom and veterinary wellness exam.

“OAA has always been focused on helping Tulsa Animal Welfare and our community however we can,” says Erin Shackelford, Executive Director with OAA. “We’re really excited to be partnering together to find these healthy, adoptable dogs their perfect families. Adopting a pet is a big responsibility, but rescued dogs return the favor in unconditional love and appreciation.”

This event was being sponsored by Woodland West Animal Hospital and Pet Resort, Alta Vista Animal Hospital, and Pet Supplies Plus – Tulsa. OAA also sends a special thanks to Expo Square for providing a space for this event.
