OSDH extends COVID testing hours

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) is extending COVID-19 testing hours at local county health departments, including offering weekend availability at some locations.

Visit oklahoma.gov/covid19/testing-sites, local county health department Facebook pages, or call 2-1-1 for locations and hours.

Mobile COVID testing units will also be deployed to locations throughout Oklahoma.

“While at-home testing is convenient, and rapid testing provides an immediate result, it is important to remember PCR tests provide the most accurate results, allow for variant sequencing and the ability to contact trace,” stated Jolianne Stone, Oklahoma state epidemiologist.

PCR test stands for polymerase chain reaction test, and is the standard nose swab used by health professionals to test for COVID-19.

“PCR test results are typically available within 24-48 hours and are highly encouraged for accurate testing,” said Stone.
