Shots fired, one person pistol whipped at east Tulsa convenience store

One man in critical condition after officer-involved shooting
  • Tulsa police responded to shots fired at the Joy Mart at 2112 E. Garnett around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
  • Officers confirmed the incident ended in an officer-involved shooting near 31st and Garnett.
  • Two officers and an officer in training heard shots fired in the area of 21st and Garnett.
  • Officers later learned that there were bullet holes in a car but no one had been shot at the convience store. The victim had injuries from being pistol whipped by the suspect.
  • The suspect with the gun got into a silver Nissan Sentra, which started a short pursuit with officers. At the time, a female driver got out of the car and tried to run. The male passenger got into the drivers seat.
  • Officers say the hispanic male suspect in his 30s was transfered to the hospital in critical condition after the officer-involved shooting.
  • The female driver is detained.
