The National Weather Service says heavy rain is expected to enter southeastern Arkansas and move northwestward across the state and into eastern Oklahoma.
The weather service says four to six inches of rain is possible through the end of late Saturday, bringing the possibility of flash flooding to the region.
The storm made landfall Tuesday night just west of the Alabama-Mississippi border and though it never became a hurricane, it is blamed for the death of a child, who was killed when a tree was blown onto a mobile home in Pensacola, Florida.
