Oklahoma middle school teacher accused of sending explicit pictures to a student

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Midwest City Middle School student who is accused of sending nude pictures to a 16-year-old boy.

Court documents say that Ivy Reneau, who is listed as a 7th grade science teacher at Midwest City Middle School, admitted to sending explicit pictures to a Midwest City High School student.

The student, who FOX23 has chosen not to identify, said he met Reneau at a soccer field at Rose State College. The student is on the Midwest City High School soccer team while Reneau was an assistant coach for the middle school soccer team.

The student says he exchanged Snapchat accounts with Reneau, who then sent him flirty messages. The flirty messages then allegedly turned into explicit pictures. The 16-year-old said he saved the images onto his phone, but then deleted them.

He also admitted to receiving money from Reneau, saying he “wanted to get something out of it” after he allegedly told her that he had images that would ruin her career.

Investigators found the images on the student’s cell phone.

Reneau was interviewed on May 11. She admitted to sending the images to the student.

Reneau is no longer employed with Mid-Del Schools. The Superintendent released the following statement:

“District officials were notified of an alleged relationship between a Mid-Del staff member and a student. We reported the information to law enforcement so that they could begin an investigation. The staff member is no longer employed by Mid-Del Schools, and we have worked closely with the family of the student in the wake of this accusation. We will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities.”

It appears that Reneau has not yet been booked into the Oklahoma County jail. According to OSCN, Reneau has been charged with one count of using technology to engage in communication for sexual or prurient interest with a minor.
