New updates emerge about Uber driver in Norman allegedly attacking OU student

NORMAN, Okla. — New updates have emerged about an Uber driver in Norman who allegedly attacked a University of Oklahoma student.

In newly released court documents, it said the driver John Butler picked up the victim near White Street and Buchanan Avenue in Norman. The driver locked the doors and hit the victim so hard that she became unconscious.

The driver took her to a remote location and assaulted her more but she managed to escape.

The victim left her phone in the car which police were able to track down and connect to Butler. He is facing several charges including aggravated assault.

His first court appearance is set for June 7.
