Oklahoma school closures on Election Day

A school bus driver in Arkansas was killed when he was trapped under the vehicle after it slipped out of gear.

TULSA, Okla. — Several schools in Oklahoma will be closed, and a handful of others will have a professional day or early closure day Tuesday.

November 6 is Election Day and polls for the Midterm Election open at 7 a.m.

Oklahoma Schools Closing for Election Day:

Byng, Coalgate, Durant, Hartshorne, Miami, Muskogee, Oklahoma City, Panama, Pryor, Seminole, Stringtown, Tulsa, Woodward, Yukon

Schools with Professional Days on Election Day:
Shawnee, Tahlequah

Schools Closing Early on Election Day:
Checotah (half-day), El Reno (closing at 1:40 p.m.), Glenpool

Schools with No Extracurricular Activity on Election Day
Putnam City (excluding sports)
