• Oklahoma program tackles uninsured driver problems

    OKLAHOMA CITY - Quick Facts: 

    • SB 359 created the Uninsured Vehicle Enforcement Program
    • DAs across the state run the program
    • It uses cameras on either highways, mobile trailers or patrol cars to scan license plates and verify insurance
    • Drivers without insurance will receive a ticket in the mail
    • The state hopes to have some cameras operational by the end of 2017
