Muscogee (Creek) Nation Second Chief tests positive for COVID-19

Muscogee (Creek) Nation Second Chief Del Beaver has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post made by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, they said Second Chief Beaver was notified of being in close contact with someone who was positive last Friday and decided to the self-quarantine over the weekend.

They said Second Chief Beaver is experiencing mild symptoms but will continue with telework at home until he is cleared for return by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health.

“We have been serious about this virus since the beginning and have taken the recommended just goes to show that no matter how careful you are, everyone is susceptible,” Second Chief Beaver said. “I just want to stress that this virus is as strong as ever and is taking hold in our communities, even to those that have been diligent. Please, be overly cautious and follow the strict guidelines of distancing and facial coverings.”
