• Mothers stage nurse in at Tulsa courthouse

    TULSA, Okla. - QUICK FACTS:

    • A mother nursing her child in the Tulsa Municipal Courthouse says a court official allegedly told her to go to the bathroom.
    • City officials told FOX23 a city employee is on administrative leave in connection with the breastfeeding incident.
    • A witness, Savannah Bannon, who is also a soon-to-be mother, told FOX23 the woman was discretely feeding her baby when the employee told her to leave the area. Bannon says she and the nursing mother filed a complaint with the court administer.
    • According to Oklahoma House Bill 2102, "Mothers have the right to breastfeed anywhere they have a right to be, and shall be excused from jury duty upon request,"

    • Bannon posted on Facebook. The post sparked outrage throughout the community.
    • Several mothers plan to have a "nurse in" at the courthouse at 9 a.m. on Friday. 

    • City officials confirm a complaint was filed, but they can not comment on personnel issues.
