• Mother accused of accessory to murder sentenced in fatal Rogers County hit & run

    Claremore, OK - A Rogers County woman was sentenced to nine years in prison for her part in a 2015 accident in Rogers County that killed one teenager and severely injured another.

    Dorothea Butanda was sentenced Tuesday afternoon in a Claremore courtroom.

    She was charged with accessory after the fact to murder, two counts of accessory to leaving the scene of an injury accident and obstructing an officer in the case.

    Butanda's sons, Gage and Dakota Shriver, were sentenced to 25 years in the Department of Corrections in December 2017.

    Noelle New was killed in the accident and Maranda Talley was seriously injured.
