Mask donations help save Broken Arrow's four-legged residents

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Quick Facts:

  • Pet-specific oxygen masks can help save lives after a fire
  • Animals often retreat to "safe" places in a fire, which can lead to deadly smoke inhalation
  • Around 40,000 animals impacted by house fires die each year
  • Broken Arrow firefighters received a donation of special masks to help their residents
  • They hope to get 10 more of the masks; each costs $100
