OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. — Famed film director Martin Scorsese spent time in Oklahoma over the weekend scouting locations for his next project.

The Oscar-winning director of "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas," and "The Wolf of Wall Street" is set to take-on a film adaptation of "Killers of the Flower Moon" next. The book tells the true story of a series of murders committed against the Osage people in the 1920, and one of the first high-profile investigations helmed by the FBI.

Osage News reported on Friday Scorsese traveled to Pawhuska to meet with Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear about the project. The newspaper reported that the film will be made in Oklahoma and production will work with the Osage Nation on it.
