    TULSA, Okla. - QUICK FACTS:

    • Reports from The Associated Press say 26-year-old John Allen Chau was allegedly killed by members of a tribe on a remote North Sentinel island. Officials say the tribe is known for shooting at outsiders with bows and arrows.

    • Officials said Chau was apparently hit by arrows, but the cause of death can't be confirmed until the body is recovered.

    According to reports, an isolated tribe on an North Sentinel island killed 26-year-old John Allen Chau with arrows.

    Oral Roberts University confirmed that Chau attended the school in a press release. The statement statement on Chau's death says they are not surprised Chau would try to spread God's love to the isolated group and are saddened by the death.

    "Oral Roberts University alumni have gone to the uttermost bounds of the earth for the last 50 years bringing hope and healing to millions. We are not surprised that John would try to reach out to these isolated people in order to share God’s love. We are deeply saddened to hear of his death." -Dr. William M. Wilson, President of Oral Roberts University
