Man admits to killing three people in apparent drug deal, Cherokee County sheriff says

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Okla. — A man admitted to killing three people after an apparent drug deal and then burying all three of them in a shallow grave near Edon Hill in Cherokee County, authorities said.

Cherokee County Jason Chennault said he got a call from sheriff in Arkansas Friday and told him the brother of a missing woman found her body.

Investigators got a search warrant Friday for the property and found the body of the missing woman. They later located the suspect, who was identified as Robert Lewis at a casino and he was taken into custody, Chennault said.

Chennault said Lewis admitted to killing three people. The relationship between them was not immediately disclosed.

On Saturday morning, two additional bodies were discovered, Chennault said.

Chennault said they are still investigating what led up to the homicides but “looks like some sort of narcotics deal.”

Investigators are looking for Lewis’ truck, a blue 2006 Dodge Ram.

Lewis currently is in the Cherokee County jail.
