MAYES COUNTY, Okla. — A man is in jail Friday after Mayes County deputies say he killed his girlfriend with a hammer.
Deputies arrested 37-year-old Harvey Dale Murphy late Thursday night in connection to the death of 52-year-old Kimmy Jo Stipes.
Mayes County deputies say they were called to a home Thursday on North Highway 20 after hearing a man had killed his girlfriend the night before.
Deputies say they came to the home and found Stipes dead and evidence that there had been a violent crime.
Mayes County Sheriff's Office and OSBI investigated and Murphy was later arrested on complaints of first-degree murder.
