WASHINGTON — Republican incumbent Markwayne Mullin has won re-election for Oklahoma’s 2nd congressional district.
The race for District 2 was between three candidates including the Republican incumbent Markwayne Mullin.
Democratic candidate Danyell Lanier and Libertarian candidate Richie Castaldo are challenging Mullin for the seat.
District 2 includes a large portion of eastern Oklahoma.
Voters elected Mullin, owner of Mullin Plumbing, in 2012. He currently sits on the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
Lanier, born in Tahlequah and raised in Hugo, served in the U.S. Navy from 1994 to 1999.
She is now an organizational trainer and project analyst with United Health Group.
Castaldo, born in Tulsa, lives in Afton now and is currently a student of Global Grace University for a Masters in Biblical Counseling.
He launched GrandLakeLife Church in 2015, according to his campaign website.
