WinCo is employee-owned by way of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan they say makes employees part-owners of the company.

“At WinCo, we’re a bit different – we don’t have weekly ads, we don’t take credit cards (we take cash, debit & check) and our friends bag their own groceries… But what we DO HAVE is LOW LOW prices on everything from fresh produce and meat, to baked goods and fried chicken - PLUS over 700 items (think pasta, cereal, candy, and spices) in our Bulk Foods Department that you can buy by the pound, or even ounce!”
