TULSA, Okla. — Volunteers came together on Friday in south Tulsa to help those in need.

Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa partnered with Home Depot to build wheelchair ramps for elderly or disabled homebound individuals.

The project started months ago when Meals on Wheels Director of Client Care Jonathan Vanbeber says he had to figure out who was in need, then submit paperwork to get grant money to fund the project.

The groups are building two ramps, one that is 8-feet long, the other is more than 25-feet long.

Vanbeber says Meals on Wheel’s goal is to keep people safely living in their homes.
