Jury finds two brothers guilty for sexually assaulting child at Tulsa daycare

TULSA, Okla. — Two men have been found guilty in a 2019 sexual assault case at a Tulsa daycare center.

FOX23 followed Charles and Malcom Burts’ arrest in February 2019.

Investigators say they believed both men sexually assaulted a 7-year-old child and multiple other children over a period of three years at the Tiny Tots Daycare near 71st and Riverside. Police stated the daycare is owned by the suspects’ parents.

Tuesday, FOX23 learned a Tulsa County jury recommended 33 years in prison for each brother.

Prosecutor Katie Koljack released a statement saying “I am so proud of the children and the victims in this case.  It is often difficult to prove child abuse cases when the defendant victimize children who are very young.  But because of their strength and bravery, they were able to testify and the jury was able to reach a verdict which will keep other children safe now.”

Their sentencing is set for June 21.
