TULSA, Okla. — Students at Lanier Elementary School have made it their mission to get comedian and television host Trevor Noah to visit their class when he comes to Tulsa in March.
Akela Leach, a teacher at Tulsa Public Schools, posted on Facebook that her students will start a unit on Noah’s book next month.
“Born A Crime” tells the story of Noah’s childhood living under apartheid in South Africa. A version of the memoir adapted for young readers was released last year.
Noah is bringing his Loud and Clear Tour to Tulsa’s River Spirit Casino Resort on March 13.
In addition to serving as host of “The Daily Show,” Noah is also the founder of the Trevor Noah Foundation to help young people in South Africa prepare for college and eventually the workforce.
