Tulsa Public Schools strengthens mask expectations for students, staff

TULSA, Okla. — According to a letter sent to parents from Tulsa Public School Superintend Deborah Gist, all staff members will wear masks while inside buildings. Masks will be worn starting August 30.

The only exception will be for those who have a documented medical exemption.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, all students will wear masks. Students must also have a documented medical reason to be exempt.

The announcement comes just hours after State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister shared that a child and Grove teacher died from the virus.
