Tulsa Public Schools employee dies due to COVID-19 complications, district says

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist said at a school board meeting Monday the district is reporting their first COVID-19 related death.

The school district said Michael Angelo, a member of the facilities and operations team, passed away due to complications from COVID-19.

The district said his wife, Violet Angelo, is a custodian in the district and has recovered from COVID-19.

“Our team is holding up a family, the Angelo family, in our prayers and surrounding them with lots and lots of love,” Gist said.
