TULSA, Okla. — TPS Chief Financial Officer Nolberto Delgadillo has accepted a position with Portland Public Schools, Superintendent Deborah Gist said in email to staff.

Delgadillo joined the Tulsa Public Schools team in summer 2017 to strategically align district resources to support instructional outcomes, the school district said.

Gist said Delgadillo is moving to Portland to be closer to family.

“In his time with the Tulsa Public Schools family, Nolberto led our district through Shaping Our Future, a community-centered budget redesign effort; he oversaw the restructure of the Finance Office to significantly improve direct services to schools; and he has continued to carefully and thoughtfully steward our financial portfolio to prioritize the needs of our students and schools even as we navigated multi-million dollar reductions in state funding,” Gist said in the email. “Under his leadership, the role of the Finance Office has moved from that of compliance-monitor to strategic service partner, and Nolberto leaves the team well-positioned to carry forward his service-centered approach to fiscal management.”

Prior to joining Tulsa Public Schools, Nolberto served as chief operations officer at LA Promise Fund, a nonprofit, charter management organization dedicated to preparing Los Angeles students for long-term success.

Gist said new Chief Finance and Operations Officer Jorge Robles and Delgadillo will work closely to ensure a smooth transition.
