TULSA, Okla. — Police said a man was found dead after he was hit by a vehicle in south Tulsa Friday morning.

The man was found in the parking lot of an office building near East 51st Street and South Yale Avenue. Tulsa police said the man looks to be in his 30s.

“It’s pretty unusual for us to find someone hit the back of a parking lot by a vehicle,” said Sgt. Will Dalsing.

Police said they think he was hit around 5 a.m. in the parking lot while he was skating, because he was found with roller blades on.

Somebody who came to work at the office building Friday morning found the man.

51st and Yale is quite the busy intersection. LaFortune park is across the road from where the deadly accident happened. But investigators aren’t sure why the man was going through that area.

“Maybe he was using it as a way to get to the street from the park, I’m not sure. Maybe he was just trying to go home that way or go to the park, we’re not sure,” said Sgt. Dalsing.

Police are reviewing surveillance video for information on what happened.

“We’re working on video right now to see what we can see. There’s not a lot pointing to the back corner of this building,” said Sgt. Dalsing.
