Man arrested after he shoots his neighbor, police say

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police say a person of interest has been detained following a shooting that led to a standoff in north Tulsa.

Police say they responded to a shooting call around 3:15 p.m. near East 46th Street North and North Peoria Avenue. After more than five hours engaged in a standoff, police say they discovered no one was inside the home.

Not long after police said no one was inside the home, police were told a person of interest related to the shooting was near the 200 Block of South Memorial Drive in east Tulsa. Police say that is where they have taken the person into custody.

Police say the victim, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say they believe the suspect fired the shot through a window from inside a house.

Officers then received information that Edward White was spotted at several area convenience stores. Eventually, Edward White was caught at a Walmart fighting with deputies.

Edward White was arrested on several charges including possession of a firearm, shooting with intent to kill, and drug possession.
