Tulsa police identify homicide victim near 46th and Peoria

TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE, 8/30/21: Police have identified the victim as Donnie Williams. Investigators say Williams was covered in blood and died from trauma to the head. A baseball bat was found next to the victim underneath a mattress. It’s not clear if the bat was used in the homicide.

Tulsa police are investigating after a man was found dead in a grassy field in north Tulsa Sunday morning.

Lt. Dedlorn Sanders with the Tulsa Police Department said a Tulsa bus driver called police when they saw a person lying in the grass near 46th Street North and North Peoria around 7:30 a.m.

When police arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Sanders said.

Sanders said the man may have died sometime overnight and had trauma to the head.

Anyone who may have seen anything overnight around the area of 46th Street North and North Peoria is asked to call police.
