Police identify suspect wanted for shooting, killing a man in his car in midtown Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department have issued a warrant following a shooting that left one man dead in his car.

Homicide detectives started an investigation Tuesday night after a person was found shot to death inside a car in midtown.

Officers said it happened when suspect Casey Joe Davis, 35, shot and killed Joshua Hurd, 37 in his car near 14th and Lewis, near the area of Cherry Street.

On Friday, police released both the victim and suspect’s identity.

They say Hurd was shot and killed while in the car, resulting in the crash.

The call initially went out as a car wreck, but after arriving on scene, police say they found evidence that led them to believe it was more than that.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of suspect Casey Joe Davis to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-2677.

Davis is wanted for first degree murder.
