TULSA, Okla. (KOKI) — Tulsa police say Officer Todd Snedegar has been removed from patrol and placed on restricted assignment after being arrested earlier this month.
Police say Snedegar was involved in a non-injury crash near East 41st Street and Memorial Drive on the morning of July 3.
Dispatchers say they were advised around 8:19 a.m. that Snedegar was involved in the wreck while on-duty.
Tulsa police say more officers responded to begin working the accident. They said the initial investigation showed Snedegar was at fault and hit the vehicle in front of him at the stoplight.
As officers continued to investigate, the patrol supervisor on scene reportedly detected an odor of alcohol on Snedegar’s breath.
They said he was then taken to the Mingo Valley Division to continue with the investigation where he admitted he had drank the night before.
Police say he then completed the state’s intoxilyzer test which yielded a result of .11% blood alcohol concentration.
Snedegar was arrested for DUI and possession of a firearm while intoxicated and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on July 3.
Tulsa police made the information public on July 19.
