Tulsa man accused of threatening to kill Oklahoma District Judge

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A 43-year-old Tulsa man was arrested Monday, accused of threatening a district judge.

Deputies arrested DeAngelo Favors outside the Oklahoma County Courthouse after receiving a tip that he planned to hurt or kill Judge Amy Palumbo.

Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Deputies say Favors skipped a court date Friday but was spotted outside the courthouse Monday. They says they later found a gun stashed in an outside trash can.

Surveillance video shows Favors walking toward that garbage can with a bag that seems to match the one the gun was hidden in.

Favors has a criminal record that spans more than 25 years and includes arrests for assault, illegal possession of a weapon and criminal impersonation. Oklahoma County authorities are seeking federal charges.

Palumbo has been the District 7 judge since 2019.
