Tulsa Holocaust survivor celebrates 100th birthday

TULSA, Okla. — Sherman Ray, a Tulsa Holocaust survivor, turned 100-years-old today.

Longtime friends drove by the Zarrow Pointe retirement community where Ray lives, giving him cards, firm handshakes and sharing words for his drive-by birthday celebration.

Ray says he was a prisoner at an Auschwitz concentration camp when he was 14-years-old. He says it was an awful time and anyone that makes you think otherwise, is wrong.

He also had COVID-19 in December and beat that, too.

Ray says he is a survivor in all forms.
