Tulsa County Election Board warns about campaign calls

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa County Election Board says they have gotten calls from voters who have been contacted on their cell phones by political campaigns ahead of the August 25 election.

The board says although some limited voter information is considered public information by law and is available under the Open Records Act, be aware that phone numbers are not part of the publicly available voter lists maintained by the Election Board. Therefore, the information is not released or made available to any private individuals or campaigns for any reason.

If you receive a phone call or text from a candidate or a political campaign and have questions about how they are getting personal information like your phone number, please contact the candidate or their campaign officials to inquire.
