BIXBY, Okla. — The Bixby Police Department has a new chief.
The Bixby City Council and City Manager voted unanimously to appoint Todd Blish as the new Chief of Police. Their search included candidates across Green Country, Oklahoma, and even the U.S.
Blish is currently a Major with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with more than 11 years of leadership experience. He also has more than 33 years of law enforcement experience in Oklahoma.
Chief Blish said, “I am looking forward to serving both the community as well as the members of Bixby Police Department as we work together to protect our community and move forward. This is truly an exceptional community with an exceptional group of law enforcement professionals. I will make it my mission to bring people together for a common purpose and continue moving the Bixby Police Department in a positive direction.”
Blish replaces Ike Shirley, who retired earlier this year. Shirley’s grandson was arrested in connection to a double homicide in Broken Arrow in May.
Blish will start on Nov. 1.
