WAGONER, Okla. — Wagoner city leaders are hopeful for the future of downtown three years after a devastating fire.
Three years ago, historic Downtown Wagoner caught fire, burning down multiple century-old buildings.
Since the fire, the city took the facades apart piece by piece, then demolished the properties. When they rebuild, they plan to use the original brick to keep the same historic facades.
Several new businesses have come to the area since the fire, including a bakery, a candy shop, BBQ restaurant, and clothing boutique.
The city says they are talking with developers right now to bring in new businesses to the now empty lot.
