Sylvester Stallone to star in mobster series set in Tulsa

Sylvester Stallone is ready to live on Tulsa Time.

The actor has landed the lead role in “Tulsa King,” an upcoming Paramount+ series. “Tulsa King” tells the story of Dwight Manfredi, a member of the mafia in New York. After Manfredi is released from prison and banished from his home, he moves to Tulsa and creates his own group of mobsters.

The series is led by “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan.

Sheridan is also working on another series called “Bass Reeves,” based on the historic African American U.S. Marshal. Reeves worked as a police officer across Indian Territory following the Civil War. David Oyelowo will play the role of Reeves. “To look at a character like him, who got white-washed out of history, I just can’t wait to tell this story,” said Oyelowo.

A release date for “Bass Reeves” has not yet been announced. “Tulsa King” is expected to be released this fall.
