Six charges filed against woman who led Tulsa police on a chase

TULSA, Okla. — Melissa Howe is now charged with 6 counts after leading Mingo Valley officer on a chase in a stolen car July 26 just after noon.

Officers say the car was reported stolen in Oklahoma City. Tulsa police caught up to Howe near 41st and Garnett and tried to pull her over. They say Howe drove off and led them on a chase.

Officers finally caught up with Howe near the Heather Stone Apartments near 31st and Mingo. They say she had crashed the car into some shrubs. Howe was arrested near the courtyard of the apartments.

She is charged for having a stolen car, eluding officers, leaving the scene of a crash, having drugs on her and driving without a license or insurance.
