Police are investigating after they say an attempted kidnapping of a woman led to a crash in midtown Tulsa on Friday morning.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near 21st Street and I-44 after the driver had been trying to escape police.

Tulsa police told FOX23 that shooting and attempted kidnapping at the Yacht Club Apartments near 51st Street and Yale led to the following chase.

Police say the shooter, Justin Davis, is a coworker of a woman who says he’d been stalking her for months.

The woman’s husband was walking her to her car Friday morning to go to work when police say Davis got out of his truck with a shotgun, followed the couple back to their apartment, and fired a shot into the unit.

Police say the husband was hit with shrapnel in his hand, and Davis grabbed the woman by her hair and dragged her out of the apartment to try to get her into his truck.

Davis started choking and beating the woman before the husband ran out and police arrived.

Officers chased Davis until he crashed near 21st Street and I-44 where they arrested him. He was treated for minor injuries.
