Sapulpa High School students take part in Chieftain Community Service Day

SALPULPA, Okla. — Today, more than 100 Sapulpa High School students took part in Chieftain Community Service Day.

It was the first time the district hosted the community service event, bringing together students and student athletes to help the City of Sapulpa with landscaping, cleaning, picking up litter, and cleaning up local parks.

The students spent about two hours helping out at Bennett Steel, Heritage Park, Kelly Lane Park, Liberty Park, Sapulpa Golf Course, and along Main Street in downtown Sapulpa.

The community service day is the second of three events this summer hosted by Sapulpa High School. Back in June, the district hosted Chieftain Team Building to help students develop leadership skills.

In August, they’ll invite 9th - 12th grade students to the Chieftain Leadership Retreat at New Life Ranch in Colcord, Oklahoma.
