Sapulpa Elks Lodge opens cooling station as temperatures rise

SAPULPA, Okla. — The Elks Lodge in Sapulpa is opening a cooling station to help people in need as temperatures continue to rise in Green Country.

The organization is opening their building at 24 South Poplar Avenue to offer a free place to cool down and to hydrate. The building will be open everyday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Shoulder to Shoulder Ministries also has their mobile pantry on site, offering free food and snacks to anyone in need.

This isn’t the first time that The Elks Lodge helped in extreme temperatures. During the bitter cold snap in February, they opened their doors, helping 40 people stay warm.
