TULSA, Okla. — Sanitizing your nose? Yes, it’s a thing.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that hospitals sanitize patients’ noses before surgery.
However, now experts say it’s something more people should be doing -- especially during cold and flu season.
Dr. Michael Manyak is leading the “Sanitize Your Nose” public health campaign.
Manyak says the nose is a portal of entry for organisms to get into your body and also a reservoir where those organisms can reside and be a source of infections. People touch their faces 100 times on average daily.
