Republican candidates go head to head for Muskogee County Sheriff Republican election

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. — Michael Mahan has been in law enforcement for 29 years. He started with the Muskogee Police Department, then made his way to the sheriffs office as chief deputy and undersheriff.

He’s a family man with seven kids and has lived in Muskogee County his whole life.

Andy Simmons is the Supervisor of the Muskogee Police Department criminal investigation and special investigations unit.

In the June election, Simmons led in votes, including early and absentee votes.

The winner  of tonight’s race will have to face off against (D) Charles Pearson in November. He served as Muskogee County Sheriff for over 16 years.

He’s also facing criminal charges after getting arrested in June for shooting at his brother while he was in a car.
