    TULSA, Okla. - Quick Facts

    • Police responded to a shooting early Monday morning
    • Police discovered 25-year-old Wayne Squires killed by a gunshot wound
    • Police arrested Deonte Conway for shooting Squires

A man is dead and police have arrested who they believe shot him.

Just before 3 a.m., police responded to a shooting at Brightwaters Apartments. They initially responded to the call as a self-inflicted shot.

When they arrived, they found Wayne Squires, 25, dead. Investigators now believe Squires was shot by someone else, and they have arrested the man that they believe  fired the shot that killed Squires.

Investigators spent nearly six hours questioning witnesses Monday morning. Among those witnesses, friends who neighbors say were with Squires the night before his death.

Now, they have arrested Deonte Conway, who was inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Police say they have not established a motive at this time, but they are charging Conway with First Degree Murder.

They hope that the individual or individuals that may have given Conway refuge in an apartment complex in north Tulsa will come forward.

There is a possibility of more arrests in this case as some initially interviewed had different stories about the night's events.

Those with information on this crime are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-2677.

This is the first homicide since April and rings up as the 25th Tulsa homicide in 2015.
