Owasso School Board votes against medical marijuana on district property

OWASSO, Okla. — The Owasso School Board voted Monday night against allowing medical marijuana on school campuses.

No district employee or student will be allowed to carry marijuana on school property even if they have a state licensed medical marijuana card.

Those with a prescription will need to take care of their needs elsewhere.

Administrators said they chose to ban the plant because marijuana is still illegal in the eyes of the federal government.
