OSBI investigating homicide in Nowata

VIDEO: Police investigating Nowata homicide that leaves woman dead

NOWATA, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a homicide in Nowata.

Nowata Police Chief Mike McElhaney said OSBI was called in to assist after a person was found dead at a home Saturday.

OSBI said a disturbance reported around 8 a.m. at a Casey’s General Store on Ash Street involving a man named Jacob Reid Edward Kimball.

Kimball was reportedly involved in a car accident and a fight at the Casey’s General Store.

Officers said once they arrived they found Kimball and discovered he had his infant child with him.

OSBI says officers then went to Kimball’s residence to contact the family and instead found a woman’s deceased body inside.

Kimball was taken into police custody and to the Nowata County Jail, OSBI reported.

This is an active investigation.
