Oklahoma native Reba McEntire rescued from building in Atoka

ATOKA, Okla. — Oklahoma native and country superstar Reba McEntire had to be evacuated from a building in Atoka this week.

Firefighters helped McEntire down a ladder from a second story window.

McEntire was in town, touring the building for an upcoming project. The staircase from the second to the third story collapsed, falling directly onto the staircase connecting the first and second floors. People were trapped on the second or third floor.

McEntire was checked out by first responders at the scene, and she is okay. One person in the group was taken to a hospital in Durant to get checked out.

It’s not clear what project McEntire is working on in Atoka.
