Oklahoma bands play live streaming concerts from Tulsa bar

TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa music venue is continuing to provide entertainment despite city-wide bans on bars and events.

The Mercury Lounge at 18th and Boston is hosting virtual concerts with local bands every night for as long as they can.

The video streams also include a virtual tip jar so viewers can tip the artists.

Mercury Lounge says they’ve done virtual shows in the past, and thought this could be the perfect opportunity to do what they can during the pandemic.

Tuesday night’s stream reached 32,000 viewers, and they hope to make that number grow.

Concerts begin at 7 p.m. on the Mercury Lounge Facebook page.

People are encouraged to buy merchandise from local bands and donate to the tip jars to continue their support.
