North Tulsa mom says a neighbor’s pitbull attacked her young daughter

TULSA, Okla. — A North Tulsa mom says her next-door neighbor’s pitbull attacked her daughter while she was playing in the backyard near Pine and Sheridan.

Christine Stanford says her three-year-old daughter, Khaleesi, was outside, when the dog next-door went under their fence. She says he bit her in the arm and leg.

Standford says both she and her son tried to get the dog off Khaleesi. She says Khalessi was in her own yard, and she was just playing by herself when the attack happened. Standford noticed what was going on right away and was able to quickly jump in. She worries what would have happened if no one was around. Both the daughter and mom had to go to the hospital to get stitches.

She says, “I was so panicked. My heart was racing.” The only thing going through her head was, “I need to get my daughter out of this dog’s mouth.” This happened more than a week ago, but this North Tulsa family say they’re still living in fear.

The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare says they are investigating this. The family says their neighbors told animal welfare that the dog had run away, however, when Fox23 knocked on the door, a dog came to the window. Stanford said that was the dog that attacked her daughter.
