Nine-year-old from Broken Arrow dies after crash on I-40
Nine-year-old Avery lost her life in a traffic accident, and her mom is still in the hospital. A GoFundMe has been set up for the family.

YUKON, Okla. — A nine-year old from Broken Arrow died after a car crash involving a semi-truck in Yukon, just outside of Oklahoma City Wednesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said the crash involved a Peterbilt semi and two vehicles that were driving on Interstate 40.

One of the vehicles had an 11-and nine-year-old in the car along with the driver, according to an incident report.

Troopers said the driver was taken to OU Medical Center in serious condition. Both children were also taken to the hospital where the nine-year-old died.

The 11-year-old, also from Broken Arrow, was treated for her injuries and then released, troopers said.

The drivers of the semi and third vehicle were not hurt.

The cause of the crash under investigation but troopers did report the semi driver was sleepy at the time of the crash.

Heather Jackson says her Broken Arrow cousin lost his 9-year-Old Daughter, while his wife is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

She says no parent should ever have to go through what her cousin is going through.
