TULSA, Okla. — The City of Tulsa celebrated “Welcoming Week” on Thursday with a naturalization ceremony for a handful of new U.S. citizens.

Welcoming Week is a nationwide annual celebration that brings immigrants, refugees and longtime residents together to emphasize the importance of unity and inclusivity.

This year’s theme is “Creating Home Together.” It focuses on bringing Tulsans of all backgrounds together to achieve the city’s shared goal of prosperity.

Wednesday is also Citizenship Day. City of Tulsa officials used this day to host a Naturalization Ceremony for 10 immigrants from seven different countries.
